Temperature changes in less than 20 seconds.
The thermalized area has been splitted in two sub-sections with two distinct thermochromic liquid crystals. The right one is sensitive to cool temperatures (20-25°C) and the left one to cool temperatures (35-40°C). The temperature shift from 20°C up to 40°C can be directly observed at the cell’s location.
Cherry on the cake: you can reverse and go back to 20°C if you wish!

This video is a 1h time-lapse showing some dividing cells in our Petri-dish device as a validation of material biocompatibility and happiness of cells. Cells were put in the device and maintained at 37°C.
We designed a specific chip to adapt our temperature precision technology to the Petri dish standard. The temperature can be controlled, changed while live-observing cells under high-resolution microscopes.
